Mantas Ezcaray was born from the legacy of Cecilio Valgañón, who in 1930 transformed the production of fabrics into hand looms for the manufacture of sashes, shawls and blankets. In 1950 he incorporated mohair in his creations.

Today, his grandchildren have taken over and give continuity to the work of their parents, with the same enthusiasm to create plaids ensuring unprecedented comfort thanks to careful manufacture and top quality raw materials. The company is still based in Spain, about 100 kilometres south of Bilbao.
